Chris Hurst

ElderChris was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and then moved to Chicago for college and beyond. Although he knew about Jesus early on, it wasn’t until his junior year of high school when he committed his life to Him. That year, a very close friend of his died in a car accident – forcing Chris to face the reality of the temporary nature of this life and realize that the pursuit of earthly desires are a “chasing after the wind”. He then began attending church and became actively involved in Campus Crusade for Christ during his college years.

After college, Chris and his wife Meg attended Harvest – Rolling Meadows for several years and participated in the church’s small group ministry. In 2006, the Hurst family moved to St. Louis to be closer to Meg’s family – and soon after, heard from friends in Chicago about the Harvest church plant in St. Louis. They have been attending Harvest St. Louis since shortly after the church launched in 2007. Chris and Meg have been small group leaders since 2009 and in 2010, Chris was appointed Elder of the church. Chris and Meg are also trained budget counselors with Crown Financial Ministries.

Chris has been married to his wife Meg for the last 9 years and God has blessed them with three wonderful children – Madison, Jacob and Sydney. When not working as an actuary and spending time with his children, Chris enjoys playing tennis, practicing and performing classical clarinet music, reading, meeting with members of his small group, working in his yard – and an occasional video game!
